OPEN MESSAGE TO THE PRESIDENT, GOVERNORS, SECURITY AGENCIES, AND ALL GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES IN NIGERIA
We, concerned citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, call upon the President, State Governors, the Armed Forces, Police, Civil Defence Corps, intelligence agencies, and all public office holders to fulfill their constitutional duty to protect the lives, liberties, and dignity of every Nigerian.
1. Security of Lives and Property
The primary responsibility of government is the protection of lives and property. We urge all security agencies to intensify efforts against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, violent crime, and all forms of insecurity threatening our nation.
2. Rule of Law
A peaceful and prosperous nation can only thrive where the rule of law is respected. We call on all authorities to ensure that justice is applied fairly and equally to every citizen, regardless of religion, ethnicity, region, or political affiliation.
3. Religious Freedom and Tolerance
Nigeria belongs to people of different faiths and backgrounds. Every citizen must be free to practice his or her religion without fear, intimidation, discrimination, or persecution. Government institutions must remain impartial and protect the rights of all religious communities.
4. Peaceful Coexistence and National Unity
We urge political leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and security agencies to promote unity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians. No group should be treated as second-class citizens in their own country.
5. Equal Rights for All Citizens
The Constitution guarantees equal rights to every Nigerian. We call on all levels of government to ensure fairness, equal opportunities, and equal protection under the law for all citizens.
6. Accountability and Good Governance
The people deserve transparent, accountable, and responsible leadership. Public resources should be used to improve security, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the welfare of the people.
7. Protection of Human Rights
Security operations should be carried out professionally and lawfully. While combating crime and terrorism, the rights and dignity of innocent citizens must be respected.
We respectfully call on the President, Governors, Security Forces, and all government institutions to work together in building a safer, more just, more united, and more peaceful Nigeria.
Nigeria is our common home.
One Nation, Many Faiths, Equal Rights.
Let Justice, Security, and Peace Reign Across the Land.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria..
